My apologies for the late notification to the massive amounts of Just a BROment fans out there, but there will not be an episode of Just a BROment this week. On the 29th of April, which was last Friday for those that aren't paying attention, Levon threw a game night at his house. It was a jovial time with friends and loved ones casually playing board games. Little did any of us notice, but Levon kept leaving the room for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Later that evening he informed us that he had been vomiting, throwing up, barfing, ralphing, blowing gravy, added uneeded decor to the bathroom walls, whatever you call it, he had been sick. He assured us all that it must have been food poisoning from a lovely down home restaurant we all frequent here in North Little Rock. On Saturday, the night we usually record the podcast, Levon was still feeling ill and Cree was violating the usual female private parts that he abuses. I too had felt slightly off, so we decided to cancel our recording session. Long story short, Levon did not have food poisoning and I have been shitting and barfing my brains out the last couple of days. So with no episode, PSN is still down, and Bin Laden dead, I'll leave you with a short bloggy story of how awesome my kid is at Skate 3!

Watching my 5 year old son, Levon (yes, I named him after that dude we all love) play Skate 3 is like watching a 105 minute movie of George Clooney constructing a weapon only it's no where near as sexy. No offense to my son, of course, he is a handsome young lad, but Clooney is one of the few men of this world that brings out the raging homo in me. I'd willingly receive his spray on my face any ole day of the week... Anyway, this post got off (literally) track extremely fast and all weird like... Back to Skate 3 and my kid. Where was I going with the whole George Clooney thing? Oh yes, watching a movie about him building a gun doesn't sound all the great or enticing, but I found myself entertained all the same. It's how I felt when my little man asked if I'd watch him play Skate 3.

Skate 3, for those who don't know, is a skateboarding game published by EA. It was released in May of 2010 and it's a pretty damn fun title. Games like this and 5 year old's normally don't mix. It ends in frustration for both you, as you watch him do the same bullshit over and over again, and him as he does the same bullshit over and over again, but this time was different. I watched creativity pour out of him. It started off about how you'd imagine it would, tons and tons of "how do I do this?" and "how do I do that?" questions. Then he caught on and began to skate his own lines. It took me back to when me and Levon (big Levon, not son) were playing ATV Unleashed on the PS2. We would come up with our own stunts to perform over ridiculous obstacles that weren't meant to be performed on, but we pulled them off and we coined the phrase "Bandit shit".

As he skated around this virtual city he noticed a shark monument, similar to the one in Back to the Future 2, only more statue like than hologram. I watched as he skated back and forth around this statue and finally figure away that he could jump up high enough to possibly clear the damn thing. He lined himself up at one end, that would net him enough speed to hit the ramp and potentially hurl him over this big ass shark. The song "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazzarus comes on. Not exactly a song that pumps you up for epic stunts that your young one is about to pull off, but I was bobbing my head none the less. He pushes himself off the ledge and flies down the ramp with good enough speed, his eye hand is a little off as he over-corrects his alignment on the ramp, I get nervous thinking he's gonna bite the shit, but he maintains... He heads up the end of the ramp, plenty of speed! As he clears this shark with plenty of space, I couldn't help but yell "BANDIT SHIT!" An inappropriate word for a father to say in front of his kid, but I was too stoked to contain my excitement. Not only did it take me back to simpler times of my childhood, I was proud to see my little man construct a plan and follow through until he nailed something that most wouldn't be able to achieve.

-Bryan, The Host

After an epic musical intro, Bryan, Levon, David, and Chase discuss lady-things from Requiem for a Dream, Michael Jai White's acting chops (and probable superpowers) in the new Mortal Kombat online episodes (and why Betty White should or should not be in them), the future, the excitement of sexy feet and Nascar, and the appeal of women.  The crew also finds itself confused when it cannot find any black main characters in video games, ask where have all of the cowboys gone, and hit on the importance of shoes in this week's Fact or Fiction.  Finally, the hunt for Cree has officially begun.  And oh yeah: Levon bangs 'em out while everyone picks on David.  Summary: We Talk About Everything (tm).

David puts on his best blackface as his HBO mini-series discussion is derailed, Bryan falls asleep and gets touched, newcomer Ronnie defends Superman and defines "bukkake", and Chase introduces everyone to the "Bone Theory".  Also, Cree disappears and presumably goes to church with his Japanese girlfriend, and Ronnie learns how to use Google maps.

The crew (Bryan, Levon, Cree, and Chase) barely makes it to episode two as Cree sends his love to Japan, Levon shares his feelings on retarded babies and Wal-mart, Chase talks about racism, and Bryan just tries his best to be noticed.  The casters debate on the validity of using a sling as a weapon in a zombie invasion, and Cree clarifies his opinions on texting.  And finally, this week's Fact or Fiction hits on the topic of online dating in small towns.

In our introductory episode, Bryan, Cree, Levon, and David opine about Robocop in the real world, curing baldness, what the hell happened to Sony's FPS MMO Planetside, John Williams' movie themes, and getting beat up by ladies.  The ladies are texting too much in Cree's Corner.  And lastly, Fact or Fiction: do beer goggles exist.
